Students from the Law Department of the St.Petersburg State University have proved yet again that qualified specialists in international trade law are growing up in the country. Very soon the need in them will be even more acute due to Russia's expected accession to the World Trade Organization.

At the regional round of the international WTO legal competition that took place in Hamburg, Germany on March 15-22, the St.Petersburg State University team won the prestigious third place, beating the teams from Spain, Romania and other WTO member countries. Such a good showing by the St.Petersburg State University team was not unexpected: students from the Law Department are participating in this competition for the fourth consecutive year, each time displaying a high level of preparedness and qualifying for the final round that is annually held in Geneva for the best teams in the world. This year the final round of the international WTO legal competition will take place on May 1-6. The Russian team will face tough competition from the representatives of the best foreign universities: it is a tradition that the teams qualifying for the final round represent the universities of the UK, Australia, Holland, Germany and the US.
